The Leader in Rotational Molding

The Cad Design Drafter is responsible for making geometry modifications to part models enabling tooling of rotational molds. The Cad Design Drafter is responsible for applying a diversified knowledge of modeling and drafting principles and practices in the development of tooling models and drawings. In addition, the Cad Design Drafter will support the design of trim, finish, and assembly fixtures as needed. Creativity and mechanical aptitude are essential. This position is the gateway for higher level engineering positions as well as other positions within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

The Cad Design Drafter will be a key member of the Project Engineering department supporting new product development. The Cad Design Drafter will work directly with Project Engineer to ensure the timely and accurate completion of mold specifications using mold standards as well as best practices to ensure a quality mold specification.

Responsibilities

· Using CAD software, The Cad Design Drafter prepares clear, complete, and accurate working drawings and supporting 3D models in cooperation with the Project Engineers.

· Participate and contribute to mold design meetings with Project Engineers

· The Mechanical Drafter may be required to assist with the creation of trim and assembly fixture designs.

· The Mechanical Drafter may assume additional responsibilities as directed by their Leader in support of the Project Engineering department’s needs and objectives.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· An associate degree in applied science or any engineering discipline is strongly desired.

· Intermediate skills in Creo or alternative 3D CAD software are strongly desired.

· Must be able to import and export models, manipulate models, inquire regarding properties and dimensions.

· Ability to apply principles of scientific analysis, math and physics to solve engineering problems is required.
