Consider an opportunity to build your career as a member of our Quality Engineering Department by providing technical quality and engineering expertise performing advanced product quality-planning (APQP) activities. Determine quality plans for new products and provide input into the design of capable processes with a focus on mistake-proofing following the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). Oversee customer approval of new projects and provide support to manufacturing to ensure the successful production of new projects. Provide support in the resolution of customer concerns and quality issues and improvements in the processes for manufacturing projects.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline, or equivalent education and Quality Engineering experience required. CQE certification and experience working with ISO 9001 quality standards in a manufacturing environment highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of engineering and design concepts, quality planning, SPC, design of experiments, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), FMEA’s, Control Plans, and other Quality tools and related software highly preferred.
  • This position requires excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, communications, team process, and problem-solving skills.

Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coordination and execution of any specific customer part approval requirements (including any associated components) for assigned customers.
  • Must be knowledgeable of the design and planned processes to manufacture the part for all projects assigned.
  • Create inspection plans of the parts and assure conformance.
  • Provide support to the Project Engineering team in identifying, tolerancing, design assessments at the prototype and production stages, and develop test methods and inspection plans.
  • Advise CMM operators regarding inspection scheduling priorities.
  • Coordinates and is a driver for any capability studies.
  • Provide support and assistance to manufacturing on the successful launch of new projects into production and assist in any needed quality improvements.
  • Tracks all customer approvals and deviations for new projects.
