Job Summary
The Corporate Safety Manager champions Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) by:
-
Successfully implementing plans to support assigned EHS
strategies.

Developing and implementing a company-wide EHS system.

Managing costs associated with all EHS functions.

Supporting and assisting business units in their EHS efforts.
-
Interfacing with regulatory and public sector EHS agencies and
authorities as an appropriate liaison between management and the government
agencies on regulatory issues.

Maintaining active involvement in teams and safety committees and
ensures coordination for change based on approved committee recommendations.

Keeping up-to-date and informed on EHS laws or regulations
that impact Centro.
Leading the Corporate Human Resource and Safety Coordinator
positions and other positions as needed in EHS or Human Resources.

Knowledge, Skills, and
Abilities Required
1. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related
field preferred, or equivalent education and work experience.
2. At least two years
previous experience in an Environmental Health and Safety position.
3. Substantial
ability to communicate effectively in both written mediums and oral
presentations.
4. Strong
organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills. Detail and task completion
oriented.
5. Substantial
understanding of Centro’s business philosophy and values; manufacturing,
operations; employment policies, procedures and relevant occupational safety
issues, and worker’s compensation claims, policies and procedures.
6. Ability to use
computer and word processing, database, and spreadsheet software and common
equipment effectively.
7. Must be able to
see, speak, hear, read and write sufficiently for effective interpersonal and
computer-based communications and to perform essential functions of the
position. Must be able to sit for long periods of time, walk, climb stairs, use
hands and fingers for writing and using computer keyboard and other office
equipment.
8. Commitment to

9. Must achieve the competencies defined in Centro’s quality
system in order to become, and continue to be qualified for this position.
A
pre-employment physical exam and drug screen is required.
