Production Planner/Scheduler

Opportunity to join the country's largest Custom Rotational Molder. Responsible for acknowledging and reviewing customer purchase agreements, confirming their accuracy and analyzing Centro’s ability to meet all quality and delivery requirements. Confirms all necessary materials availability and machine and finishing capacity to complete agreement. Creates and maintains machine and finishing operations schedules to facilitate efficient operations and for timely delivery of ordered product. Serves as the primary business unit customer contact. Creates and provides the necessary information and documentation regarding Business Unit sales and operations to the Business Unit Leadership Team.

 

Responsibilities
1. Reviews and acknowledges customer product purchase agreements, assuring that price,specifications and delivery dates are accurate and achievable. Responsible for Centro QSP 7220 Purchase Order Contract Review for Production Parts.
2. Serves as the primary business unit customer contact for addressing any questions, issues, product changes or delivery dates regarding existing product purchase agreements.
3. Analyzes the most effective means to meet customer requirements for molded product. Creates afirm machine schedule by noon each Thursday for the following week’s production. Advises the Business Unit Leader, Business Process Owners and Manufacturing Team Leaders of any necessary unscheduled manufacturing changes.
4. Generates a rolling 3-month sales forecast monthly.
5. Analyzes the most effective means to meet customer requirements for necessary secondary operations on product. Creates a weekly product finishing requirements regularly to help plan and assure adequate human resources and materials will be available. Reconciles the Daily Finished Product Recap Sheets to assure the weekly finishing schedule is finished.
6. Reviews long term production and finishing requirements regularly to help plan and assure adequate human resources and materials will be available. Advises the Business Unit Leader of any anticipated future needs to meet customer requirements.
7. Participates in Manufacturing meetings when requested.
8. Creates a variety of other necessary documents and reports regarding divisional or customer information, including manufacturing schedules and reports, customer purchase orders and status schedules and others as requested by the Business Unit Leader
9. Initiates any necessary Product Change Notice or submits information for a QAR as specified in the Centro’s Quality System.
10. Maintains the strict confidentially of all documents and information relating to Centro or customer business data.
11. Performs other related tasks as requested by the Business Unit Leader.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1. Associates degree in business or related area or equivalent combination of education and business experience required. Bachelor degree or advanced training and certification in communications, customer services and/or production scheduling is preferred. APICS certification preferred.
2. Knowledge of Centro’s manufacturing and finishing operations, products and customers is required. At least 2 years of manufacturing experience is advantageous. Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques highly preferred.
3. Excellent organizational, communication and analytical skills, orientation to detail and timely job completions skills are required.
4. Ability to communicate effectively and accurately in writing, orally and electronically is required. Must be able to create and maintain accurate divisional documentation as necessary.
5. Must be able to see, read, write, speak, and hear sufficiently for effective interpersonalcommunications and to perform the essential functions of the job. Must be able to receive and understand detailed information, judge depth, and distinguish color and variances. Must have ability to complete basic math functions accurately, and use logical/organizational concepts. Must be able to walk, stand, occasionally lift/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, sit for long periods of time, reach, bend, grasp and handle objects.
6. Must be able to use all office equipment effectively, including telephone, voice-mail, computer, FAX, calculator, e-mail, copier, and computer word processing, spreadsheet and data base software. Familiarity with Microsoft Office & ROI is required. Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems preferred.
7. Commitment to quality, continuous learning and improvement, customer satisfaction, teamwork, safety, workplace cleanliness, attendance and punctuality and high productivity is required.
8. Must be able to participate in occasional business travel, including periodic overnight travel.

 

Work Environment & Schedule:
The work environment includes office and manufacturing areas, with temperature range of 50-100 degrees F. Normal work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM. Additional work time, including weekends, may be periodically necessary to meet customer requirements or to respond to emergencies. Must be willing and able to commit sufficient time and energy to accomplish essential job responsibilities in a timely manner.
