Project Engineer Intern

The Project Engineer is responsible for the development of new product designs, tooling and processes to support the manufacture of our projects.  Pro-E skills are advantageous. The intern will be directed by, and work closely with the Lead project engineer on site.
The intent is to provide both an industrial learning opportunity for the student, and to assist the project engineering gouup in completing their work tasks. 

The Project Engineer Intern is a flexible engineering resource capable of assisting with many of the
Project Engineering functions including design review, part price proposal creation, tool design,
fixture design, prototype support, production launch and all other aspects relating to new product
development. The Project Engineer Intern will work under the direction of a Project Engineer or a
Project Engineering Leader

The Project Engineer Intern learns directly from a skilled professional. All of the projects the Project
Engineer Intern works on will be in support of a real business need, with a direct link to Centro’s
products and customers. The Project Engineer Intern position is an opportunity to receive on-thejob technical training, exposure to project management and the opportunity to develop a host of
transferable skills. The day-to-day tasks will vary, but will be technical in focus and the Project
Engineer Intern will receive support from a number of different people within the business, all of
whom will be committed to helping them deliver their best. The Project Engineer Intern‘s ability to
assist with the process by which we manufacture parts is foundational to Centro's ability to provide
quality parts and ultimately satisfy the customer.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Currently pursuing a degree in an engineering discipline is required.
2. Ability to apply principles of scientific analysis, math and physics to solve engineering problems
is required.
3. Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
4. Basic Pro/Engineer or an alternative 3D CAD software skills is required. Must be able to import
and export models, inquire regarding properties and dimensions, and design fixture
components.
5. Commitment to continuous improvement of quality, customer service, teamwork and safety
required.
6. Ability to function in team environment, with excellent communications and interpersonal skills
required.
7. Ability to use hand and power tools is preferred.
8. Willingness to accept and embrace change in order to improve efficiencies.
9. Knowledge of Centro’s product, customers, and manufacturing and finishing operations highly
desired.
10. Must be able to analyze facts, evaluate unique situations, and provide information to determine
the most appropriate action plan and/or work sequence or method to perform job tasks
effectively.
11. A commitment to safety, quality, customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, teamwork
cooperation, workstation cleanliness, high productivity, and consistently good punctual
attendance is required.
12. This position has certain competencies that must be achieved to become and remain qualified.

The work content will be both hands on and office oriented.

Pay is $16.00/hour.
